Description
In Ancient times, before the great Sin War split Heaven and Earth; when angels and demons freely walked the land with mankind, there was a King like no other, a King immortal.Unknown to any but his closest advisors, the King's great gift, that of eternal life, was granted by his Sorceress Queen--a powerful enchantress with no equal. As is expected when humans play the role of gods, there was a flaw in the Queen's plan. In giving the gift of eternal life to her beloved, she damned herself to a life of eternal death. In addition, the King, while immune to the cold kiss of death, was not impervious to injury or the ravages of time.
As her King lived and prospered without fear of death, the Queen's body wasted away to a shadow of her former beauty. For every breath her husband took, her body shriveled that much more. In the end, grief stricken by his beloved's tortuous existence, the King ended his Queen's agony and thusly ended himself.
This is a revisiting of an older work I did back in '04. If you'd like to check out the couple in happier times, lookee here: The Immortal King and Queen by
Mechanical Pencil on 9"x12" Bristol. Approximately 4-5 hours total.

After careful consideration, I realize that while you didn't tell me about all the stuff that was wrong, you did point out very constructive items. So....

I think it will look better if you will darken the background a bit to create more contrast with the rest of the image.

its a very good sketch, a heck of a lot potential
might want to work the volumes and perspective on that tower in the bg too

Thanks all for the feedback. Except Dean. He's weird.

My suggestion: Keep the style as it is and just leave those shadow outlines next time. Just the outlines that are needed to hold everything together.
And I'd love to see more background.
The armor looks wicked!
Would wear it. Fits to my new Warhammer.
